This version is a preview of an app to be released early 2022.
It’s been created especially for the performance at Gare du Nord.
In 2017, ensemBle baBel was invited by Xavier Veilhan and Christian Marclay to record/perform in the French Pavilion at the Venice Biennale for art.
Xavier Veilhan had transformed the whole pavilion into a recording studio which internal architecture was inspired by Kurt Schwitters’s Merzbau.
During the recording session, the audience was free to walk in the middle of the space, of the musicians.
During three days baBel recorded hours of music.
The app will allow to discover all this footage, influenced by the location and the movements of the listeners, during a walk, a ride or a trip.
ensemBle baBel is:
Antonio Albanese, guitar
Laurent Estoppey, saxophone
Anne Gillot, bass clarinet, recorders
Luc Müller, drums
Noëlle Reymond, double bass
Recorded July 13-15 2017 in Venice by Tibo Javoy
